The history of the tiffin lunch box

Colourful and bright, yet also practical, it is large enough for a generous meal. Mahadeo Havaji Bachche started his own lunch delivery service, hiring 100 delivery men to distribute hot lunches from family kitchens to city employees. Workers could enjoy traditional cuisine on their lunch breaks, that was generally cheaper than getting takeaways, while also eliminating the waste associated with a takeaway meal. The stainless steel tiffin lunch boxes were collected and returned after each use. How awesome is that!?
