Scrunchies that Provide Income for Victims of Human Trafficking

These hair scrunchies are some of the healing products created by women at the S-CAPE safehouse in Cape Town. Not I But We is a nonprofit organization that provides meaningful work and income for survivors of human trafficking in the Western Cape. Aiming to create products that are both beautiful and healing to those who make them and wear them, Not I But We is able to support S-CAPE with every sale and bring restoration, healing and justice to survivors. S-CAPE provides safety and rehabilitative services to victims and because of your purchases, one of the Not I But We employees who recently transitioned out of the safehouse, has been able to buy herself a new sewing machine so she can expand her own business!

In order for survivors to have a self determined life they need viable opportunities to support themselves. Not I But We gives survivors a chance to do that by using their skillset to craft the beautiful products you purchase. Learning new skills and being creative aid in the healing process after traumatic experiences. All Not I But We products are handmade with love and ensure dignity. The women have been upskilled to make these beautiful scrunchies as well as reusable face wipes available for purchase here. These courageous artisans also make reusable bowl covers, hats, headbands, lip balm, jewelry and more.
