Certified Organic Rocket Seeds – 2 variants

R27.00

These organic seeds are great as a herb or in salads. Wild rocket is smaller with narrow leaves and salad rocket has soft, dark green and serrated leaves. It has a distinct peppery taste where wild rocket has a sweet, mild taste. Wild rocket’s older leaves can be very spicy, slightly bitter and peppery. Sandveld Organics seeds are all certified organic and contain no genetically modified organisms.

Sandveld Organics is an organic farm in Lambert’s Bay on the West Coast of South Africa. They’re a supplier of certified organic seeds that are open pollinated. This means that you can save your own seeds to grow more plants with most of the qualities of the parent plant.

The Sandveld Organics founders, Theunis and Susi Engelbrecht, are pioneers in organic agriculture on the West Coast. Sharing their knowledge and experience, they started assisting a group of less privileged women from the fishing community in Lamberts Bay, struggling with their vegetable garden. Together with the support of several State Departments, this initiative has developed into a structures support programme to help emerging farmers.

When to plant

Grow your own rocket by sowing your Sandveld Organics organic seeds from February to December. Rocket performs well when grown with beetroot, carrots, peas and salads. Does not grow well with cabbages and cucumbers.
