Kerry Hoffman spent a day sharing soup and sandwiches with people living on the street. This relaxed social gathering, and the regular monthly events that followed for the next five years, proved so transformative that it led to the establishment of Souper Troopers. This registered NPO (188-609) and PBO (930063119) aims to restore dignity to the city’s most marginalised residents – those who live on the streets. Souper Troopers help individuals who are homeless take steps necessary to make sustainable changes in their lives. By purchasing these coffee beans, you help Souper Troopers reintegrate our neighbours in need into society, thereby achieving their mission of eradicating homelessness.

Meet the troopers

Tanya* was in desperate need for an income to provide for her 2-year-old son, so she left her home in Zimbabwe to find work in Cape Town.
