Mother City Mushrooms is a passion project started by two Capetonians, Patrick and Loki. The concept is to use agri-waste to produce locally grown organic exotic mushrooms.
Apart from being delicious, mushrooms are healthy too, and provide many of the nutritional benefits found in meat, beans or grains. Low in calories, fat-free, cholesterol-free, gluten-free, and very low in sodium, mushrooms also provide many important nutrients.
